Thinking of putting a Borgeson Power Steering Box in my 70 Challenger 440RT. Anyone have any experience with them? Is the improvement worth the $$$ and how tough is the installation? Thanx

I have zero experience with it's use because my car is still on blocks but here is my installation minus the lines. Direct bolt in.

We've installed several in different makes and models. Most have had issues to one degree or another. Their Tech support leaves a lot to be desired with the "You're the only one that's ever had the problem" response, While google says different.
One of their support people told me they don't have any engineering staff on board. They just keep adapting the same (Toyota?) box to different applications. The owner and his son are absentee owners and are off in Tennessee (I think) trying to make a go with custom made firearms.

So why do we keep installing them? mainly to get away from the leak prone slave cylinder systems that Ford and GM used. (GM up to 1982 in the corvettes). Do your research and proceed with caution. twocents beer

You might want to contact Bergman Auto Craft: https://bergmanautocraft.com/product-category/steering-parts/

He has experience with the Borgeson and he has developed some parts to help make them work in a Mopar. Borgeson did only a half way job of developing the product. In theory it is a better solution but lots of people have complaints about it.

The 1st box of theirs I got from Summit had a cross-threaded and clearly not fastened down (because it couldn't have been) bolt at the top of the housing, yet it still shipped out. The replacement one was good however.

I do not know how many pieces they sell, but from a quality perspective this was disappointing.

The box hasn't been installed yet, that's coming over the next two or three months. I am however simply amazed at the price gouging going on for simple parts like the steering coupler adapter...my God...$200??? No thank you!

I have 10,000 miles on my borgeson box. I had to shim the box ~1/4" to help center it up in the k-frame, other than that it has been problem free.

I am using a u-joint adapter to a stock column.

I'm running two of their large sector boxes. Bolted in without any issues six years ago and thousands of miles on them now. My advice is buy it through Bergman and get his column adapter, and get the matching Borgeson pump. Went through three parts store boxes that had the incorrect pressure valving.
