I have had ok luck with Amazon basics cable with lifetime warranty as well as Monoprice cables (also lifetime warranty). I have not had to replace an Amazon one yet, but have dealt with Monoprice and they are good as far as replacements. I find the weakest spot is the ends where it plugs into the phone. I bought some cable protector things to try to keep them from bending. If you have a wireless charging capable phone, I would go that route as the main charger. I don't have one that can wireless charge, but heard they tend to get warmer than while plugged in with a cord. As far as data transfer (downloading pictures to a computer), the apple cables work best.

just UnPlUg the cord when the phone is charged up. the cord will last MuChEsT LoNgEr if you do that.............

Never had any luck with "aftermarket". HOWEVER, the last time I had an issue it was gunk in the phone receptacle that was the problem

I bought an Iphone charging cord at WalMart to leave at our tin condo at the beach. It will eventually charge the phone, but I can't leave it charging on the night stand by the bed at night. It goes in and out....and every time it does, it makes that "BOING" sound! Wakes me up and then I'm It charges fine at home on my OEM charger that came from Apple.

I've started purchasing the "Amazon Basics" cords on Amazon. They have been holding up rather well and have great reviews!
