340 block boss

dodgedart416 OP member D Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 161 ohio	There is a boss on the front of the 340 block just above the passenger side motor mount.It is about 3/4 diameter and about inch long what is it for ? and can it be shortened? Thanks
