There is an inlet adapter that allows you to connect an Edelbrock carb to the stock steel fuel lines. I have one on my 383. Looking for another for my 440. Its not the Edelbrock 8090.

That's what I used on my AVS2 replacement for a car's original AVS.
The fitting seat differs between the original carb body and the Eddy body, and Edelbrock doesn't carry a hardline adapter for the OEM line.

The fitting's seat differs between the original carb and the Eddy, so the original fitting doesn't seal to the carb.

i have used that item several times on several different eddy carbs and never had a leakage problem.
was your gasket defective ?
what did you do to solve your problem ?

No, it was a depth issue in the carb body.
I edited my comment so it hopefully makes more sense.
The Eddy inlet fitting with hose adapter works on the Carter, though.
