70_GTX_SIXPACK OP member 7 Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 85 Shrewsbury, MA	Folks, I purchased a 70 B-Body Engine harness from Yearone. It's the Electronic Ign. harness and they told me I needed the four prong ballast resister which I purchased. I noticed today that when I put power to the system, it became hot. Is this normal? I do not want this restoration to burn up! Any electrical wizards out there? thanks

HealthServices Why would you even post that? Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 7,759 So Cal	Ballast resister cuts down the voltage by converting it to heat. This is why the housing is ceramic so it won't melt. Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.
