Folks, I purchased a 70 B-Body Engine harness from Yearone. It's the Electronic Ign. harness and they told me I needed the four prong ballast resister which I purchased. I noticed today that when I put power to the system, it became hot. Is this normal? I do not want this restoration to burn up! Any electrical wizards out there?

thanks

Ballast resister cuts down the voltage by converting it to heat. This is why the housing is ceramic so it won't melt.

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.
