I put a fuel pump on one of my cars today & had to remove the overflow tank, alternator and coil to even see it to change it. Anyone want take a guess of what body and which engine?

A 500 ci Duster shruggy wink...........................wouldn't it have to be a carbureted vehicle to have the fuel pump near the engine as most fuel injected vehicles have electric fuel pumps at the rear or in the fuel tanks? School me?

I did a tuneup on a 69 (A body car) or so Cuda with a 383 once. I had to remove the alternator to change the plugs.

Changing the fuel pump on most any A motor cars was much easier if you removed the alternator from the early 60s through the end of the M body cars, especially AC cars.

Most of the modern trucks you pull either the tank or the bed to replace the fuel pump. Its not gotten any easier, that was one of many reasons I quit doing it for a living.Gene

I always changed the plugs from the bottom side with big blocks unless they had headers

I don't even try unless it's the most simple of tasks, such as changing the oil and filter. A friend of mine has Titan, and was just explaining the day long process of changing out the starter, which includes removing intake.

It's give and take. Did a fuel pump in a Caliber that died right before I offloaded the car. Two bolts to remove the rear seat, a plastic cover and a couple of quick disconnect fuel lines. Job was done in under 15 minutes. Want to replace an alternator in the same car when the clutch (yes, it has a clutch) breaks? Better part of an afternoon with it having to come out through the bottom of the car that involved removing a ton of plastic shielding, the tire and A/C compressor.
