When I purchased my 70 U-code Cuda, it came with 2 broken wheel studs on the drivers-side rear axle. I prefer to keep the left-hand threaded studs, as I want to maintain the original configuration. Plus, I have a new set of Mopar LH lugs. Looking at the Chrysler Parts Catalog, I am trying to determine which part number I need.

Cleaning out parts and I came across these. I have 2 each left hand threaded studs of the sizes you see. These are the last 4 that I have. Will either of these work for you? The shorter ones are used but good. The longer ones are new. PM me

I took this picture last year while measuring the brake shoe. The head appears to match the shorter stud. I need to measure the length of the stud and check for a head marking.

I think the shorter ones are right. I’ve got a couple used ones you can have as well. I’ll get some pics and measurements tomorrow.

I removed one of the broken studs today. I took some measurements of both the broken stud and threaded shank of one of the good studs. Then I thought about grabbing my Mitutoyo Dial Caliper. I had enough clearance to measure a good stud from head to tip. I got 1 3/4 inches exactly and that backs up what I got by combining the measurements I took earlier.

Looks like the ones Floyd offered you will work.

I was under the impression that 1970 models all got RH thread studs. My '70 'cuda and a '70 road runner I used to own both had RH studs on the driver's side when I got them. So unless they are late build cars, they had been changed prior to me owning them?

Hi I’m Ozzy just purchased my first challenger 1970, was going to try and give it a brake job and started off braking 3 studs off fan
I didn’t know about the left handed studs lol
Does any one have 3 LH ones for sale?
Would hate to change it if that’s how it’s stock
Thanks

Welcome Ozzy. That's a tough way to learn about the LH threads for a wheel stud. When I work on any Mopar 1970 or before, I have learned to check the LH studs before removing the wheel. Typically, the original studs would have a L or an R stamped on the end of the stud. Many of the LH ones have been changed, but not all. I hope you find some, otherwise, change them to RH. ALso, if you keep the LH studs, let the shop replacing your tires know of the studs or they may do the same thing you did.

I just checked the Apex AutoSports website and they still show the E-Body LH rear drum studs to be "out of stock". I would give them a call and ask if and when they expect to replenish their inventory.

welcome to the board ozzy ! up
if you can knock out the remaining part of one of those broken studs to measure the knurl size, then get an overall length of the stud, i may be able to fix you up.
i have three used left hand studs left, and if they match yours, i'll send them to you gratis.

I just found this thread. Does anyone have LH thread studs for a front disc wheel? I need 5 but would take whatever anyone has. I think it's P/N 2944702 or maybe 3461816.

Thanks

As a follow-up to my original post: Back in February, I received the 2 used studs (the shorter ones) from Terry. They are an exact match to the remaining 3 studs on my 70 EF8 Cuda. A big "thank you" to Terry.
