I know I have squat in the way of parts compared to some people on here, but what I do have is overwhelming me. The universe has [censored] slapped me and given me a swift kick, time to move out and on, no more ex in my life (sorry to go yorker there for a moment ). Here comes the comment from DocFiberglass in 3...........2...........1.............
Five Dakota size loads and the garage is STILL not empty.
Tired of jackin' around with this, I was originally gonna rent a PU and trailer from U-haul to move the wagon, but now instead I'm going to rent a box truck to pull the trailer and haul the remaining stuff.
Wagon has been sitting for 10 yrs and hasn't been started in almost 3 yrs. I'm sure I should have pulled the plugs and maybe shot some oil in the cylinders but I didn't. Hooked up the battery, filled the fuel bowl, and she fired right off. She's running a bit rough, but she is running and idling on her own. Gotta love it.
My original intent was to have 'crash parts' on hand as I planned to use the wagon. But, what I've ended up with is a lot of BS parts too. Over the next month I'll try to sell what I don't need/want, and what doesn't sell will end up at the scrap yard.
I'm exhausted and my bum ankle is screaming at me in 10 different languages.
Lately, I've been giving my old stuff away here for shipping costs. Some stuff I give to Mopar buddies. Some stuff that's old & unwanted, or the shipping is too chancy or now too spendy, has hit the dumpster.

It is pretty amazing how all that stuff sneaks into the garage when we weren't looking!
Sometimes its pretty amazing to see some of the stuff we thought we should keep for all these years, but usually it falls under the thought of: "What was I thinking when I thought that I needed to save THIS part?" I've been through that down size thing a few times, The one I'm doing now is an elimination run, there isn't going to be anything here when this one is done except running vehicles. Gene
Ooooo lookie dem hubcaps! I have a friend doing the same thing, to "unclutter" his life. That's just garage stuff, some peoples houses are just packed full of $hit. Some people can't let it go.

Case in point "what was I thinking".........window regulators. Way back before I had my wagon and just owned a 4dr, I picked up a wrecked but very low mileage '73 4dr for parts. For whatever reason, I saved ALL the window regulators. Why? 20+ years later, I don't know if I have all the pieces anymore and don't know why I still even have them.
Screws and bolts almost fall into that category too. I betcha if I gathered up all that I have saved off of different vehicles I could easily fill a 5 gallon bucket, maybe even two.
None of the car parts spill over into the house thankfully.
Personal effects (clothes, furniture, etc) two truck loads max.
Even if I am just talking to myself, I will post a little follow-up............
I swear this shelf unit didn't look this big in the garage. Just a little sketchy moving it to its new home.
All loaded up for the move. At the EXACT moment I needed to drive the wagon onto the trailer, the carb took a dump. Friends, family, a couple of neighbors, it took seven adults to shove the wagon onto the trailer. Ironically, what killed the carb was the newest part on the carb...............
Wagon in its new home. Now to prioritize and organize........
When a mopar buddy of mine moved years ago he lost his garage space and was forced to dump years ago parts. It seems just as fast as he was throwing stuff into a trailer destined for the dump I was taking stuff from the trailer and dumping it into my car. I still have most of it, still haven't used most of it either.

It's actually two units. This place is the ONLY place in my area that will rent you a space and let you work on a car, so there is a bit of a premium to pay for that. Even just to store a car, a majority of places around here won't allow it now.
Storage bins............$360 Uhaul to move stuff to fill storage bins..............$130 Not having to be around your ex anymore................priceless

I don't have nearly the parts you have, but lately I've been asking "why am I still keeping this"? Problem with a lot of my stuff is that it's spare stuff for my Diplomat AHB....not exactly sought after stuff. But to me, it was like gold when I was in a yard and came across it. Now, I'm feeling like I need to make some decisions. I have extra door panels, package trays, dash pads, and things like that which take up a lot of space. Am I ever really going to need them??? I've gotten rid of some. Just gave away a bumper fill for shipping cost. I think I still have two fronts and a rear! Screws and other hardware galore.
Fairly large collection of Power Wagon stuff, but nothing like Diplomat stuff. And with a single car garage, mine has migrated inside. One bedroom dedicated to the stuff. Not ideal.
^^^ Ain't that the thing, though ? When building a car, I find many parts are unobtainium and spendy. I buy 'em, and/or find good replacements & spares, and the car gets done correctly. After I'm done, I find most of the stuff left over is worthless to anyone else !
