Ain't that the truth of it......The Hemi rules in any class its allowed to run in.....I got to view a few of the new 4.9 Noonan ones, and man, that is next level stuff. Hoping that becomes more popular as well as the Goodwin Hemi's.....

And I totally agree on the Predator heads.....If they were priced a little lower, that would absolutely be the goto head for bigger power I am sure.

You don't have to change any of it, but you'll need a center bar lifter like the jesel ts tie bar if your block is 48 degree cam bank angle.

In a perfect world I'd do a 45 degree raised cam, +.5 deck block with the lifters spread .1 in each direction for a total of .2 spread. Going more than that on a stock config block will cause the lifters to hit the center cam bearing.


My first motor was built exactly like that, 604CI, Hemi block raised cam, 45* lifter angle, 2" spread, 55mm cam 7,4,3,2 swap. It lasted 27 runs as the dopes that built it didn't think an engine needed more than 40psi oil pressure. That was expensive! The right way to design one though was right, less the oil pressure.

Yeah, any good head package costs that much. At some point you have to step up or step out.

I have heard there is one in this area that been high 4.40's NA supposedly. If so I would have to expect that's gotta be close if not best NA.
