Does anyone reproduce an inner rocker panel for a 69 GTX convertible (drivers side)? Everything I am seeing is listed as "except convertible". If not, is there any chance the hardtop version can be modified and used? Any other options you guys would recommend? Appreciate any insight or experience you may have.

On my 70 Convertible the rockers were different because of an added beam in the rocker for support.

Could you use a regular inner rocker and add the existing beam or fabricate your own beam?

It may not help but just bouncing ideas around.

i remember reading about a convertible rocker replacement somewhere ["oldtimers disease" plus CRS] that showed pictures, and the pictures pointed out a 1/4" thick structure inside the rockers that was convertible specific.
if a guy could get a look at what you have, after you remove the inner tin, you could probably duplicate the reinforcement needed.
this is just a suggestion. others are WAY smarter than me when it comes to convertible specs.

This picture is of the metal support inside the rocker.

If the support is still good you could probably use or modify a new hard top inner rocker for it to fit.

If it is shot I can not see a fix except finding a good used one, fabricating one, or running a round/box tube inside the rocker and weld it into place before covering it with the outer rocker.

Thank you guys.....the rear section is pretty rusty and perforated. I'll try to figure out how to get a pic posted. The correct piece, based on the link that was posted for the Cuda repair looks pretty stout. Seems like the available hardtop piece could be beefed up. Gotta do something - what is in there now isn't in very good shape.

Did some more checking and it looks like that inner reinforcement inside the inner rocker is in pretty good shape. May be able to use the beefy reinforcement that's already there and replace the rusty outer skin of the inner rocker. At the very least, it is probably worth getting the the hardtop piece and see if I can put it together with what is already there.

how thick is that inner reinforcement ?

I got .192" but it was kinda hard to get a mic on it. That's probably in the ballpark, though.
