Quick question, nothing devious going on here, but wondering if a 68 Roadrunner can be converted to look like a 69 RR by swapping tailights, side marker lights, grille and bezels? Do the tailights swap without any modification?

Thanks.

There is a different angle on the ends of the quarter panels where the extensions for the taillights attach. Also the top of the front of the fenders where your adjustable hood bumpers attach are different.

Marker lights are completely different. I would think you'd have to change the entire fender out. 68 is the maiden year, why make changes? Unless you're going the A12 route. Even then, I wouldn't hesitate to put an A12 hood on a '68.

Why the 68`s have much more class than the 69 versions and they have those very cool marker lights that actually light up!

I think you will find it much easier to sell it or trade for a 69.

I want my fair share

All you would have when you got thru would be a 68 that looks like a 69. There are fewer 68's around so just sell your 68 and buy a 69.

Thanks for all the help and information. I have to admit a slight preference for '68s as well (not mine attached), but who can resist the clean look of a '69?

To answer the questions, we are working off a rendering of a '69 that the customer wants to build, and he definitely favors the '69.

I would have to say the quickest way would be to sell the 68 & buy a 69, 69's are for sale everywhere. Try Chicagoland mopar club CMC one of their members may have one for sale.

Even the trunk panels are different, rear bumpers because of back up lights. It'd be a lot of work to COMPLETELY change over thats for sure. Ask him what he likes better on the 69 and if it's just the front thats easy, but other than that, more than it's worth. Plus, the 68's are wwwaaayyy better anyways!

In addition to the things already mentioned, the dash pads, heater controls, and switch panels are much different.
Also the upholstery is different...

If your customer wants a '69 , then encourage him to buy a '69 . I see no benefit from creating a
68-9 "Frankenstien" .

You also would have to change the upper grille support, but that is just a bolt in.

Do your customer a favor and tell him to buy a '69 if that's what he wants.

Sure it's his car, blah, blah, blah and of course he'd never DREAM of selling it but 9 times out of 10 it'll be for sale sometime in the next 10 years and he'll be that he can't get what he thought he would 'cause it's been "frankensteined"
