Good morning everyone, I'm having an issue with the R/T emblems on a 70 Challenger, mainly the fender. I have received the "pin style" repops, but they are tapered, and the pins are too close together. The casting on these is 3445223, which is the correct number according to the Mopar parts book. However, the original emblems are flat, the pins are spaced farther apart, and the casting number is 3445231. When I questioned the repops, they told me they were correct, as the grille emblems had longer pins. Well, thanks, but, the grille emblem 2998547 does have longer pins, and is flat, not tapered as what was received, both locations. The so called fender emblems are tapered, as stated, but even if the holes lined up the emblem would not sit flat on the fender, almost like it's meant to sit along a body line. Has anyone else had this issue? Should I just go with the stick on replacements that are actually the right size and shape, just no pins?
Thanks Moparts!!

I ran into the very same issue. I now am the proud owner of two expensive and totally useless emblems tapered emblems. I ended up using the stick-on emblems in the end.

Thanks for the response! I was thinking about the contour of the emblems, as well as the taper. I knew they weren't for a flat/semi-flat panel. DING! The 194 bulb came on! The only cars I know with that style emblem were 68 or 69 Coronet and Charger R/T's. 69 Chargers just have "R/T", and is a bigger emblem, 68's have "Charger and R/T. So, I went and dug in my vast archive of parts, and I found what these "Challenger" fender emblems actually are(had a mint 68 R/T emblem on hand). These are for the tail panel of a 1968 Charger R/T, part number is 2842346. The paint on the new one has too much black around the outer edge of the letters, but the taper, contour and pin spacing is the same. if I could load a pic on Moparts, I would, but for some reason I have never been able to. So at least you can try to recoup some of your money knowing this! Thanks again!!!
