Did the factory hemi 727 ever install 6 clutches , just a heated debate , and also did the factory ever install the hemi parts in a small block 727

There was never a need for a factory built “Hemi” small block trans. If he persists ask him for the PK number stamped in the case.

As for the the trans he has with 6 clutches, have him send you a picture of the front clutch retainer and top plate/reaction plate.

There are modified plates that allow 6 discs. Again, ask him for the PK number on that one too.

The Hemi torqueflites had and extra clutch and steel in the 2nd gear clutch drum which was also wider than the stock 727. The 2nd gear kick down band was extra wide too.

Correct, we already knew that. The Hemi/Sixpack had 5 front clutch discs - not 6.

He says he has a factory hemi small block engine? If so it reminds me of the old saying, never argue with a idiot, he'll drag you down to his level than beat you with experience and from a distance no one can tell the difference.

Using a liberal interpretation of "factory", there was a SB 727 with Hemi internals offered from the old Direct Connection P/N P3878010. It was a race unit with a RMVB.
