i recently swapped out the 18 spline trans and subbed in a truck od trans on my 70 charger for a cheap od because i drive high speed hiways often.I used an old swap meet clutch and PP I had laying around(23 spline).Anyway since the swap I now have clutch chatter so gonna pull the trans and swap in another clutch...is the chatter being caused solely by the disc or could the pressure plate cause it? I`m assuming its the disc and was planning to just swap in a disc only......

Odds are its the pressure plate or hot spots in the flywheel will cause it as well

I tried buying just a disc only last year and I couldn't find anyone that sells just the disc. One of the springs were broke in half and the spring retainer ear was broke off too. Everything else looked fine?

I bought a clutch kit and went with a diaphragm style. For the better, I guess, because when you buy a clutch kit you get a matched set and it was reasonable priced. I didn't replace the flywheel and it's been good.

When you get it all back together, You will wish you did the 833od years ago. twocents up
