Trying to Decode a 67 Barracuda fender tag. Having trouble Identifying 3 of the codes.

Bottom line:
Tires 285

Bottom to top line 3
M2

Also, it has the E1 Cleaner air package. Anyone know what that entails?

Thanks!!

All had PCV by 67

Cleaner typically for California cars. In those years Cleaner Air cars could get some combination green vacuum solenoid, different air cleaner (ie. 2-snorkel vs round open), maybe different distributor part number with different timing, different part number carb with different jetting.

Good chance (if not 100%) that it was sold new in California. Maybe Denver had some rules too??

For 1966 California starting getting tougher on smog equipment. Many Ford and GM motors got smog pumps.

^^^ Denver area had "high altitude" setup, which was very similar if not a duplicate of the CA CAP.
Not sure what year that started, but I had a '69 RR 383 out of Denver that had the same carb as my '68-'69 CA RR 383s.

This is an AC car. 273 4 BBL, 4 speed. I thought a bit unusual with the AC and 4 speed combo on a BH29 Barracuda Formula S. It was a special order car as well.

Thanks for the info. Been looking for another fastback 67-69, which of all the Mopars I've had over the years, are my favorite.

I believe the Hipo 273’s got a different chrome air cleaner for CA with CAP emissions. It have a nipple for tube to the oil breather cap.

Look at the Nicks Garage air cleaner ID web site.

This one does have a correct chrome air cleaner. Breather appears to be 68/69 though with the one nipple that connects to the air cleaner..

I think that’s the correct breather. They ran those breathers in 66-67 at least. 67 440 GTX and R/T have them.
