Hello
what is an accurate sending unit for my 68 Charger RT? The readings are completely off...
Thank you

No one's made one yet. Unfortunately, they are all junk. Tons of people make them, but they can't get the little resistive element correct. Sad.

Bought mine from Kramer Auto 3 years ago and it is still accurate. They check calibration before they ship it out. It might not be on their website so you will have to call.

I used one of these on my '69 Super Bee: https://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/...748/category_id=184/mode=prod/prd748.htm

Its a bit of a hassle to set it up, but since I installed it and calibrated it, it has worked flawlessly for me.

Basically, you put this device between the sending unit and the gauge and give it power. You drain the tank and then fill the tank in increments until full, calibrating the device at each step. The device will then read from full to empty and everywhere in between in a true linear sweep.

Just wondering, if the sender in the tank isn't sending a signal to this box, how is it going to work?

It definitely requires a signal from the sending unit. As mentioned previously, "you put this device between the sending unit and the gauge and give it power"

The issue that this device corrects is when the gauge and the sender are calibrated to different values. The sending is on "full" but the gauge reads 1/2 or whatever. This device adjusts the signal so that when the sender reads full (and 1/2 and empty and all points between), the gauge does too.

The sending unit is just a variable resistance ground.

The resistance profile for pretty much all repro senders are mismatched to the OE rallye gas gauge. The guys website who designed/produced the original Metermatch is here. Helped him verify his latest design, the one sold by tanksinc, works with both OE instrument panel 5v analog regulator and RT-Eng digital regulator. In fact, the Ford preset was very close to the 73-10 ohm calibration needed for the repro senders in my 70RR and daughters 69 RT.
