kevinlc OP member K Joined: Mar 2012 Posts: 43 Yakima, WA	Since my 383 msd distributor is 3/4 of an inch too short to engage the oil pump drive I’m assuming I need a 440 one. Is this correct?

CDoering member C Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 123	You can call MSD and order a low deck or tall deck center shaft. The distributor body is the same, I have swapped them before. If I remember I had to drill the shaft for the roll pin as it did not come drilled.

I went and bought a new MSD distributor when I learned that my low deck distributor wouldn't work in Indy's lowdeck 1970 Dart Resto-Race Project 1960 Dodge Dart Seneca Dual Quad 390 Poly

biff426 super stock B Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 936 Deland, Florida	I have a brand new shaft. I can't remember now if I ordered a tall deck or low deck I am second guessing myself it has been a few years. This shaft measures right at 12 inches. If it will work let me know and its yours.
