Probably to last thing we need right now is a large earthquake on the san andreas fault. A majority of the san andreas fault has been experiencing a lot of seismic activity as well as other areas concentrated around salton sea (a geothermal area), Ridgecrest CA area and Tonopah NV. Except he inactive area between Bakersfield and Riverside is said to be overdue for a big one. Being a life-long resident of Rural Nor Cal, I've heard many Farmer Fables and Wives tales about "things that forebode a big earthquake". Included are meteor showers, earthquake weather, several days of very hot weather, odd behavior of pets, birds and crickets being quiet, and wind-up clocks running faster or slower than normal. I've been noticing all the above anybody on the left coast been noticing any indicators, or have heard any other wives tales of indicators. I'ts been said a really big quake is expected and overdue. Keep in mind that someday LA will be creep northwest and eventually lie west of reno nv and eventually it will be northwest of SF. CA will not fall into the ocean, rather it's being pushed up out of the ocean evidenced by the coast range and Sierra Nevada Mountains.

I lived in SO CA Mojave desert from1956 in Blythe, 29 palms, Joshua Tree and finally in Hesperia from 1970 until we moved up here to Oregon in 2005. I remember a bunch of fairly big ones like the 1971 San Fernando Valley, the Whittier, the Landers and then Big Bear 1 hour later and several others that I can't remember right now. The only thing I can remember about them now was the shaking as they started and no warnings before hand that I can remember now I do remember one occurring while I was driving at work and seeing a bunch of our company employees standing outside of our service center in Victorville asking if I had felt the earthquake that had occur about ten minutes before, I hadn't notice anything other than the right front tire on my company Ranger shaking like it had lost a weight or something odd like that while I was driving to that meeting I do have tunnel vision and don't notice a lot of things other people do

https://phys.org/news/2019-12-earth-earthquakes-volcanic-eruptions-mount.htmlSample quote New research suggests forces pulling on Earth's surface as the planet spins may trigger earthquakes and eruptions at volcanoes. Seismic activity and bursts of magma near Italy's Mount Etna increased when Earth's rotational axis was furthest from its geographic axis, according to a new study comparing changes in Earth's rotation to activity at the well-known Italian volcano. Earth's spin doesn't always line up perfectly with its north and south poles. Instead, the geographic poles often twirl like a top around Earth's rotational axis when viewed from space. Every 6.4 years, the axes line up and the wobble fades for a short time—until the geographic poles move away from the spin axis and begin to spiral once again. End quote California’s Long Valley/ Super Volcano could go off any time too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Valley_Caldera

Maybe they should lock down CA and evacuate it completely, now, so it will be ready for the BIG ONE, if it ever comes. Think of the lives they will save if no one is there when the BIG ONE hits. NO WAIT.... Where would all the people go? Some might want to come here. Forget ever seeing this. Two thirds are headed to Texas the balance to Kansas!

If the New Madrid Fault near the MO, TN and KY borders lets loose another pair of close together Magnitude 8+ earthquakes even making the Mississippi River flow backwards the death toll in Memphis will be very high. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1811–12_New_Madrid_earthquakes

Only thing I noticed about the one we had near me in central VA 10 years back or so was that right before it hit, I heard the building expand/contract. The ceiling tiles and lights actually creaked a bit and about 20 seconds later, wham, the floor rolled under my feet. But didn't notice anything before the actual event.
