I' have a F body stock eliminator car with 318. The 1 5/8 headers fit with no room to spare. Going to look at another F body that will get a 440 and will need either 1 7/8 or 2 " headers. Anyone try this swap? Run into any problems?

Do a search on here. I've seen various threads over the years on big block F bodies but I never pay much attention to the details since I don't own one. I know some parts used to be available, no idea if they still are or not.

Forgive my F knowledge, but would that have traditional torsion bars? Or the transverse..... if the transverse the Hooker Competition headers (Not Supercomps) fit with a little bit of work on my old RB Mirada. Definitely would have been easier if we swapped to manual steering like we eventually did (power box wasn’t hooked up anyways).

The F body has the transverse torsion bars.

Have a customer building a 77 Road runner with a 440 and he got a magnum force suspension for it. TOTAL pain in the but but he has slowly gotten the bugs out of it. I did not even know they made them for the later model stuff.

I'll build my own during the winter, going to stuff a 440 in to a '81 Cordoba. Will convert to manual steering and would like to know which ateering box J-body used, and which steering arm?I have an old B- body steering box, but it's a small sector unit and I believe the original Cordoba unit is a large sector?

I used a manual box from a 68 B body and an adapter from Firm Feel. Also rid of the K isolators and used box steel inserts of the same size.

If I’d a kept the Mirada it would have had a tube K coil overs and rack steering by now..... oh what could have been smile
