The highest cost factor is shipping and a VAT that varies. This x2 calculation goes for all speed parts..

Would like to know how far can you drive in one direction in Iceland? How many roads is there? Half of the year the lights stay on and the other half you never turn them on. I remember a picture back in grade school (50s) showing full sun at 2:00 am, is that hard to get used to? I think Iceland would be cool (pun intended) to visit.

Back when we were dirt track hobby stock racing, a lot of Chevy guys broke right side axles off just outside of the wheel bearings on the 10 and 12 bolt rear ends. I suspect the bearing rolling against the axle itself probably cause an over heating situation and probably took the temper out of the axles. The guys running Ford and Mopar rear axles didn't have as many problems, but most of them used bearings pressed onto the axles (8 3/4 Mopar or 9" Ford) with their own inner races. The total road system in Iceland is 8074 miles /12.995 kilometers. The ring road, where you can drive a circle via the coastline is 820 miles/1321 kilometers long. We have no darkness from late May until late July and in late December we have light hours between 10:30 am -4:30 pm. Somehow, we adapt to these fluctuations. You are welcome to contact me if you decide to visit. Enclosed is a photo I took last weekend of my Dakota, while travelling in a volcano area in the high desert.

Wow didn’t think it was that big. What’s the price of gas? Seeing a volcano would be neat! Isn’t there a few there?

Gas is just below U.S. $5 pr. gallon.Yikes! Yes, during the 20th century we had 45 eruptions and so far the 21st century has produced 5 eruptions. The positive sides of living here are many. For example about 80% of all houses are heated with geothermal water and the surplus water can be routed underneath driveways, via tubes, to melt snow and ice in the wintertime.
