Just got one from Dante to replace the cheap vinyl one in the '68 RR.
I seem to recall 2 angled cuts in the area against the rear body panel, so the mat would lay down better in the recessed center area.
One cut on either side of the recess, angling inward.
Anyone have an original to confirm ?

It's a nice reproduction, actually; significantly better than the vinyl reproduction that was in there.
Dante confirmed measurements for the bracing cutouts; still excellent customer service from him.
Fit is a bit large at the left wheelhouse, notch for rt wheelhouse seam is off a little, not difficult to trim though.
Just seems odd that they missed the 2 cuts at the back but I can do that.
Measurements for those cuts would be helpful, but the vinyl mat has them, so I can test & verify.

I would suggest you punch a small relief hole at the end of each cut so it wont continue to rip across the mat

Good idea. Even though I'll probably never carry anything in the trunk except a blanket & some towels laugh2
I figured out the cuts and it lays down nicely.
Loaded in the jack stuff I restored and its correct spare and the world is a slightly better place grin

By any chance do you know who the actual manufacturer of this new repro trunk mat is? perhaps ECS or DMT?

It's an REM mat. ECS doesn't have them for this application.
