I have an old Offy 2x4 Molar LA intake. I have had it for years thinking I may use it one day.
It is small port 273 and they list a 318/360 just like it both low rise. Other than the small ports will they bolt up the same on 340/360.
Or should I sell or make a good wall hanger that looks cool.
Thinking it may be best on the garage wall. Thoughts

Its still has some demand. Shipping my be expensive but advertising it on For A Bodies Only or ebay would be the way to sell it. The early Offenhauser unit has the bolt holes at different angle than the 1967 and later. I had one and was planning to run on a 360 but traded it and some $$ for an Edelbrock Street Tunnel Ram. Its not that the ports are so very small- thats expected as it was designed for a 273. Its that there's not alot of meat around those ports. I placed a 360 intake gasket up to my Offenhauser and the mounting flange really needed to be bigger to seal correctly when mated with the much bigger 340 360 port. But many have run ir with no problems on a 340. It just wasnt something I wanted to try.

This is a 360 gasket on an upside down Offy 2x4. Sorry for poor pic. The arrows point to the flange of the manifold not really big enough to seal correctly. On FABO one member had aluminium welded on and machined to enlarge the surface mount flange.

Thanks I looked last night at A Bodies site and saw every few years one came up for sale.
So looks like someone woukd need it.
I also got my gaskets out and saw the same. It would be best on a 318 small port head. But bet it would seal with good gaskets on 340 360 heads.
I haved gotten rid of all the 318 I ever had and have no plans of ever using one with 3 340s.
I should have pulled the 273 HP I found at the U Pull it. Was the solid lifter 4bbl one. But was very slugged up. So I just said can't save um all.
I even saw where one for sale had the bolt holes made oval so it would fit. Must have been due to improper deck hight.
So back to wall art or sell I guess.

If I do will post a real sale ad. Or PM ya.
Right now was figuring out what it is to me and what it is. As saw one on eBay at a crazy price from G+D in Fl. and his said 340-360 so thought that was wrong! As I thought it was smaller port size but the gaskets from a Fel Pro #2114 set that fit it 100%
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-ks2114
I am looking for the other gaskets I have to see how they fit I have stuff everyplace.
I may end up just hanging it on the wall. Ya never know what life will bring me. Never know a 318 car may end up mine one day.
I am going to shoot some pictures of what they look like on it when i find them as well.

The gasket set mentioned above FelPro 2114 had these metal gaskets in the box and also I had unkown black ones. the metal ones would work 100%. The black ones as well. The marks on the intake were made with the black ones. I do not know that brand
The HP Blue Felpro were way too big and would leak. If they were flat like the black ones they would work. Also, the HP with blue silicone rings were even larger and also would not work.

.it was used on something and was traded for a set of Heads I had that were ready to go and tossed aside was bead or shot blasted 20 years ago before I got it.
I was supposed to get cash but he never came up with it and sais here is a 340-360 intake that was not.
Looks like it would be great on a mild 318 manifolds/ twice pipes and 2 500's. Or my wall

Would be a nice intake to mount 2 LPG carbs on.

I believe your intake is the earlier 273 model with its 4 hole carb mounting pads (opposed to open with divider) and the mount holes at a different angle then the 1968 on up 318 340 360. Back in 2002 I called Offenhauser asking abut their intake on a 340 as far as performance. The gentleman noted it was split plenum single plane (Offenhuser made/makes ZERO dual planes) and that on a 360 the power band would drop by 1000 rpm compared to a 273. The catalog puts this dual quad on a 273 at like a 3000 to 7000 RPM range. This intake is VERY OLD tech. Problem is no one makes an underhood dual 4bbl manifold for the 340-360 head. The Edelbrock D66 is for the 273. The Modman intake can be purchased with the dual 4bbl top but while the Modman looks awesome- its huge mailbox size vast cavernous open plenum is not the ticket for a high performance street engine.
