Ok, after 6 years of brooding over the poor quality paint job I overpaid for, I have started putting my 70 GTX back together. It is an all numbers matching car (440, auto), but the motor has had some minor internal improvements (lighter pistons/rods, hyd. roller cam, mild port work).
Since the paint will not be "show" quality, I have decided to make some "bolt-on" only changes to make it more fun to play with. But, still allow me to put it back stock at a later time. First is the Holley Sniper EFI system for better drivability. I am still on the fence on an aluminum intake, but pretty sure I will go with a set of ceramic coated headers.
I find there are several brands to choose from, cheap to expensive. I am leaning toward the Hedman 78036 headers, mostly because I have convinced myself the ball flange connector will likely be less prone to gasket blowout. Since the EFI system uses an O2 sensor for tuning, exhaust leaks need to be avoided.
Has anyone had any experience with these headers? Easy installation/fit?
Thanks in advance!
