I am nearly done with an accurate list of 69-74 carburetor solenoid specs and stamping numbers relative to their specific carb numbers and model years. However, I could use some input on the 440 "U" code cars with AVS carbs. Your carb number, along with the number stamping on the solenoid barrel (DR1114XXX, last three digits are the key), and the type of plunger head (hex, hex with cap, or round) is required.

The carbs that fall into this category are as follows:

4737S
4739S
4741S
4740S
4967S
4738S
4968S

Also, the NOS part numbers in question are as follows:

3514520
3438303
3549318

If you have one in the box, let's see what it is!

Bill - Here is mine - all original. 1970 Challenger RT/SE 440 (U Code) Auto with A/C.
Carb: 4741S - date 2599. Solenoid: DR1114421 Hex with Cap for wire. Glad you are working on this one. Hope this helps - Dave

My "U" code 'cuda came with 3 Holley's on it.

solenoid is still there& works but I don't have the # right here, car is in the body shop right now so I'll have to go down & see what the # is.

Took a good look at a 4738S dated H9 that I have. See picture attached. The # appears to be DR111442 and has a hex head. Joe

Any chance that there is a 1 after the 2?

Good news is I have a U Code E Body...bad news is there's a worthless Holley sitting on top of the manifold.

Excellent. This matches other info I have gathered for this 71-only application. Does it have a plain hex head plunger, or a hex head plunger with a cap and terminal?

Can you take a closer look at the number on the solenoid? I am asking because I spoke with a customer who has an NOS (3514892)DR 1114442 solenoid with a ROUND plunger head. Is your unit possibly DR 1114447?

Bill - I have 1970 E Body "U" code but sadly no carb or intake - if anyone has a date correct carb or intake (mid dec 1969 build) i would gladly take it off your hands - and, of course, provide Bill the requested information - thanks

I can look at my '71 R/T carb over the weekend and I think I still have a couple spare carbs in the garage. Might have some other years as well.
