Can detonation shock scale from your cylinder walls? My new radiator is already clogged with scale from my block and it seems to have happened ever since I heard some detonation pulling a steep hill. It was a 90 degree day and that may have contributed to the detonation. The block has been in the car for about 6 years now so this isn't a new build so the scale in the radiator was somewhat of a mystery to me. I am going to flush the block and install an inline filter in the upper hose for a while and see what it catches. Gus

Absolutely can happen. Just like whacking the block with a hammer.
"use it 'till it breaks, replace as needed"

Get some evaporust. Inside of block and rad will look like new.. I used it. It works. I have seen some videos of Thermocure flush made by Evaporust and from what I have seen it works pretty well. I might just get a gallon of Evaporust and flush it through a few times. Mike I have thought about the anode idea after I get it flushed out to keep it clean. Still don't understand how this happened all of the sudden this year

I run a Gano filter screen with a little magnet in my upper hose, has kept my radiator free from plugging up.

Yeah they stock those at Summit so I'm gonna get one and a gallon of Evaporust and do some flushing then go from there. Maybe just get a new block next time around Gus

Maybe just get a new block next time around Gus FWIW I had a 440-6 that had about 11.25:1. I ran a Snow Performance meth/H2O kit. Ran great, could run 93 and run as much advance as I liked.
