I have zero experience with fire systems but I am installing a Stroud 5 lb system in my Duster this week. My question is are you supposed to use some kind of bracket to mount the nozzles or do you just let them hang and zip tie them to a roll bar or something? The kit doesn't come with any kind of brackets and the instructions are very vague. Anyone here got any experience with fire system installs?

There are brackets available. I think I got mine from Quarter Max (RJ Race Cars).

Or you can make your own metal brackets. Zip ties or any thing plastic will melt in a fire.

I bought some angle brackets at Ace Hardware - drilled the holes and voila!!
