Hello
have changed the rear end in my 71 383 Cuda to 2.76 gears. Using 245 60 15 tires, I have purchased a white speedo gear with 26 teeth. But speedo is about 10% too fast. If I am driving at 120 kmh, on the GPS it is a real 110 kmh. What is the correct gear that I should use? Thank you for the help

http://www.moparts.org/Tech/tech/pages/speedo.html If the speedo is off a bit then I always felt that it was around 2-3 mph per tooth. I `m sure someone here has made the calculation to answer this for sure..

Found this https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopa...mine-speedo-gear-size-for-a-a833.413518/

going 110 & showing 120 would be 10.9% too high so you need 10.9% more teeth so you need 28.36 teeth. confirm the 110/120 then either 28 or 29. Just me I'd go 28 as it might save me from a speeding ticket.

Is the odometer off the same amount? If the odometer is accurate but the speedo is off, the gear is correct and the speedo head is the problem.

My calculations show you need a 27-tooth gear.

The magnet in the speedometer loses strength over time, that's why the charts don't always work.

Thank you for the advice. The speedo has about 70 thousand kilometers on it, and is in very good condition. Before I changed gears. speedo was correct.
