I need to rebuild my shocks. I just wonder if it is worth rebuilding the old shocks or just buying new ones. To rebuild is 50 to 60% of the cost of new ones......... work

HEMI-ITIS has no cure.

How old are those shocks? did you get your moneys worth out of them?
Maybe newer ones might be better built with better technology work

I am all for re-using stuff if it has life in it. Do your currently shocks have custom valving or anything like that?

The rear shock has the aggressive valving, not the fronts. Viking should be able to duplicate one of the rears. The front shock I broke off an adjuster with a "J" hook. I should have been more carefull! The top of one of the rears UNscrewed leaving an oil mess.

You can buy the valves from Viking. When I had my car on the chassis dyno the operator tied it down in a way that it bent both shock brackets and one of the valves. I called Viking and they sold me another valve and instructed me on how to install it.

One of my front Viking felt different than the other with the same settings so I called Viking about a rebuild. They don't service their shocks but gave the name of a outfit in Texas that does so I sent them there. It was $300 plus shipping to fix the one and revalve both. A buddy of mine said there's a guy in Nashville that's good too. I had already shipped mine to Texas or I would've used his guy.
