After letting it languish for a long time, I want to get the Barracuda running. I got it to this stage, about 85% done, more than ten years ago when first one thing and then another kept pushing it down the priority list. It's been in the garage since '97 as I did the body and paint, installed an 8-3/4 with 3.23s, big bolt pattern conversion, upgraded drums on the rear and discs in front. I rebuilt an '86 318 with a mildly-reground roller cam and -302 heads using 340 manifolds. Performer intake and carb. Should be a nice driver combo if I can get it going.

I need a radiator, and I'm having some trouble picking one out. It needs to fit a '69 Barracuda, but with '86 hose locations (upper driver inlet, lower passenger outlet). I like the looks of ECP radiators, but they're showing most of their Mopar rads as out of stock; not a good sign. US Radiators are north of $600. Too much if not absolutely necessary. This one from Mancini looks like a good candidate. They spec it for a '70-72 Duster/Dart but it should bolt in, shouldn't it? Suggestions appreciated.

Check out Cold Case, they're over on abodiesonly, lots of guys happy with 'em, might be a few bucks more.

I have an ECP in my challenger that I'm happy with but I did buy it a couple of years ago,

That should work fine for your application. I modded a 26" into my Duster but my friend has a 71 Demon with a 318 magnum and one of those, been 4 years already with no issues.

I used a replacement radiator for a 72 Duster from either Advance or Autozone on my 69 Dart several years ago. It bolted in and the inlet/outlet were in the correct places for the later model water pump that I used.

That Champion rad is what I have in my 68 Dart. It fits fine. My plan was to use an electric fan off of a Ford Taurus but there isn't enough room for it. If you know someone who can modify the rad, it could be moved back on its mounts and the electric fan should fit. I made my own shroud and will be running a 15" standard fan. The lower rad hose might give you problems. I haven't figured mine out yet. The standard hose for a 71 Duster is too long. I looked at it the other day and I THINK I can cut off a couple inches from the top of the hose and it might fit. My other option is to buy some aluminum rad hose couplers from Speedway Motors and use rubber on each end.

I ordered the Champion from Amazon for $233 delivered. If it mounts up okay, I'll report back when I get hoses, fan and shroud sorted out.

The Champion CC526B is a good fit. I had to elongate the slotted holes a little, but not a big chore with aluminum. I used upper hose Delco 26029X and lower Napa 7695. A couple of inches had to be cut off the radiator end of both, but the shapes are right.

Now the problem is clearance for the fan clutch. Clutch mounting surface to radiator core is 3.15". The Hayden 2947 low-profile clutch is spec'd at 2.71" overall, for a clearance of 0.44". Is that barely acceptable?

The alternatives, and I don't really like either, would be electric or a flex fan and spacer. Which of the three sounds least bad?

hi sharp , between the hayden #2765 and the new hayden #2947 , I think R Ehrenberg liked the 2947 better . he did a test in mopar action a few years back when it came out . I think 7/16" to 1/2" should be plenty with everything new and tight . I think you might have to install the fan clutch and fan first , then slide rad down onto bolts . that clutch doesn't give you any room for working the bolts and hardware with tools next to a brand new radiator . drive
