Can someone help educate me on how to tell the difference between the Gen I & Gen II Viper calipers? Or are the Gen I & II calipers the same? Will they be black and say Viper on the caliper? It's my understanding they are made by Brembo, is there a part number that I can cross reference and a way to discern the front from the rear ones?

I found a set of calipers that I would like to use in conjunction with AndyF's Viper conversion brackets w/the 11.75" factory rotors and want to make sure they are the correct ones.

Gen II will be BIG and RED. I have a set, just holding now cause of:
1: expensive adapters
2: Larger wheels

Gen I's are black and significantly smaller.

It appears you can run Gen I's with 11.75 or 13 inch rotors.
Gen II require the 13 inch and minimum 17 inch wheels to clear.

I checked with Andy's website. I need to swap knuckles also. I have 71 disc currently, but need 73-4 LMJ units. And my 70 Challenger has drums in front and I have later LMJ disc units to swap on.
So Cuda spindle go on Challenger, Challenger conversion spindle go on Cuda, kit goes on Cuda, Cuda spindle go in garage. I'm getting dizzy....
This pict I grabbed from Dodge.

I've got a set on my RR right now. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. They are black and do say Viper on them, BTW. Maybe Andy will chime in with more specifics on ID'ing a set...

Found a pic on computer...

They look kinda like this.

They look better with the drilled / slotted rotors I put on later.

Sinnamon: '69 Charger RT: 440, 727, 4.30 8.75. High School Sweetheart.
El Grande: '98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited.

For those who have done it, do the viper calipers offer more power, better pedal feel, both???

It's something I thought about, but don't want to spend the money on if the difference is minimal.

Mine are more of a grey/light purple color. I was told they came off a 2005 Viper when I bought them. Seems like it was a race car of some kind. I'm not using a kit, more of a home brew, work in progress, that got shelved for a while.

Those are the later style radial mount calipers. I don't think you'll be able to find a way to mount the radial mount calipers onto a 11.75 rotor. The earlier Viper calipers are much smaller and use an ear style mount. The ear style mount is possible to adapt to the 11.75 rotor.
