Not possible. Assembly-line logistics, assembly sequence wouldn't allow it. One of a few things: SPD error, whether punched date or scheduling Non-numbers block swapped in (warranty, rebuild, whatever) Non-original block fraudulently stamped with the car's VIN
I haven't heard of a casting date being wrong, anyone else know more about such a thing? Thanks! Stamped on the oil frame rail is "1C37" Nothing else is legible. On the top pad, RB Block is "11 25 HP" None of those numbers match any part of the VIN.

"1C37xxxx" would indicate a '71 C-body engine
what else is on the top pad with the "11 25 HP" - there should also be a "F 440" or "G 440" ?? Would that casting date 11-11-69 still be viable for a 71 engine? I cant currently see anything else on the pad. Ill try to remove the wire hold down which is obscuring the rest of the pad. But it looks like that is it.
