It was a hot as heck day at Empire, but the big yellow Duster and I made it thru to the end....Didn't expect that,,,Had a blast. They still haven't listed it on their site yet, but its great to be in the money the last couple of weeks. Man I was just shot after words in the heat.....
Heat was so bad, the car was a full 1/10th off its pace from a week or so ago...
So burnt out, I didn't even down load any of the GoPro vids yet...

Congratulations. Man yesterday was brutal especially being our first time out this year. My son Matt lost 5th round in my Duster running 6.10-6.11 all day till the track hit him and he lost .01 (1.30 sixty foot) in the fifth round. I’m going to try to start taking track temps so we can make a few adjustments for the heat.

Thanks....its been a while since I won a final....Went to the last four the week earlier and bulbed it by -.011..........
So I got lucky in a couple rounds as I kept getting a little faster each run and started the day with a 6.16 dial in, even though the fastest time trial was only a 6.18 and first round, car went a 6.161 with a .004 light.....That guy is going to remember that one for a while.....And the rounds marched on from there, with two of them where I broke out on a 6.15 dial and later a 6.14 dial in the final...I kept going just below my dial in, but the other guys went further below on theirs....I don't lift, and its tough to judge a car that traps +112mph in the 1/8th......I didn't even know who won the final as I could not see the win light on either side, and I knew we both had green lights and I saw my ET where I broke out with a 6.139 on a 6.14......
Next race they scheduled for 7/4 and I am not sure I am going, but maybe we will.
