At 41 today for the Box/No Box race. 2nd time run went .003. They just announced the bye runs. Box was .006. No Box was .0007. I shoulda run Box. Just because you got the bye doesn’t mean you will get the bye. Even amount of cars has screwed me lots of times.

I know exactly how you feel. Last week at London, Ky, my first race since oct, 3rd rd, I'm .004 on the tree thinking I got a good shot at the bye next round, but it took a .000 to get it. Then on sunday, I'm .008 on my (only) time trial and earn the bye run 1st round. Go figure. My second entry I got the bye at 5 cars with a .010 light. I figured out real quick 1st rd sat how the weekend was going to go, I'm .015 dead .008 and just wasting gas. One reason I keep coming back is I can't wait to see whats going to happen next... And all this was in Modified (no box)

Dennis, How did the rest of the day go? MJ Went out 2nd round. I was late (.026) against the guy who got the bye in rd 1. He was .006. I was .02 off, he was .01 off. All in all real happy with the car, weather was decent, and I got to hang out with old friends. Car drives really nice since I had Patrick redo the steering. Made 6 passes between last night and today, 60' was 1.82-1.83 on all 6. 72Cuda, I am a firm believer that No Box can be every bit as tough as Box. I could have bought back, but I had an unbroken car on the trailer so I was happy.

Yeah, my Ford buddy had luck like that last weekend too. First round was .007 and dead on and got treed. Bought back in and lost by .005 in a double breakout.
I'm going to try Coles County's $5K Box/No Box race this Saturday. 3 hour tow, but a nice little 1/8 mile track with lots of hitters.
