 I have a couple of questions to ask you. Are you using the motor out of the 71 3004bbl440 HP Second question: did you have the motor rebuilt and put to neutral balance. If you didn't71 4bbl 440 HP's are externally balanced 6 pack rods vibration damper, you need to use a 6 pack fly wheel, not one off of a neutral balance motor,

Well, the car is booked to go into the paint booth this Saturday (Nov 12th)! Here's the original 41 year old rear finish panel.... I checked into getting it restored and was quoted $500.00 to have it done. Jeffery peeled off the original dealer sticker and it looked brand new so.... he hit it w/150 grit to take off the oxidized coating then 200 grit and so on and so on... then buffed it out..masked it off and added the red paint. Just need to attach the Super Emblem and it's done...saved a bit of coin! Before:  After:  Rear diff ready to go in also..... new leaf springs, shackles & bushings will be used also.  Bryan

Rear panel looks GREAT!! Did he clear coat? Did he sand it by hand or DA, wet or dry? I am in the same situation and would rather keep my $500.
