Well, from what I saw yesterday...the normal crowd lining the stands showed up. HA!

I figured they where all getting beer , or using the restrooms

I actually watched part of the race - Interesting

Was nice to see Ryan Newman back in action after Daytona

I had nothing better to do with the great weather here in WI yesterday and today

Fox's telecast of a NASCAR race in Darlington, South Carolina, delivered 6.32 million viewers, a 38 percent jump over the previous race on March 8. Like other major pro sports leagues, NASCAR shut down in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While not a big NASCAR follower, I am a racing fan in general. While it wasn't the most exciting race, I was happy to again have something to watch on a Sunday afternoon. I honestly appreciated the condensed opening ceremonies and accelerated opening sequence.

It was a bit surreal seeing the overhead shots from the drone with no fans, no RV's, and only the few haulers on the property.

Glad they're back at it though.

I was grateful to be able to take my NASCAR nap again...ups, I meant, I was grateful to be able to watch a NASCAR race again.
The shortened opening ceremony was nice, and having had only 3 (2 in the "booth" and on in the pits) talking heads during the race was a relief to my ear drums. There was actual time you could watch the race and hear the motors running and not some fool talking over it. Unfortunately, it will be back to "normal" much too soon. Gene

Watched a little on TV, listened to little in the shop. It was nice to have the option of tuning in again.

Did anybody actually watch the iRacing replacement? I stumbled over it by accident and while not exactly dumbest thing ever, I'd say it was up there.

I watched it till the first accident which I think was the first lap. That was enough to get me into my shop working on my cars.

Didn't see the race, but what was the victory circle celebration like?

I thought Fox did good job, with what they had to work with.
Kind of eery with no fans or pit reporters, but the race itself was ok. I actually watched the whole thing.

It'll be interesting to see how things play out. I think it was a smart move on Nascar's part to get back to it before everyone else.

...And Harvick won and not Kyle, so that was good. smile

Kenseth and Newman both showed they haven't lost a step.

I thought the sound mix was off, the cars seemed muted.
But I'm guessing that's related to the situation.
It all seemed a bit subdued.
The side effect of that was as I was sitting on the sofa, I actually nodded off a couple times.
At least Stenhouse wrecked himself early (1st lap), so he didn't take out half the field, and no Toyotas won.
Nice to see Newman back, and yeah, Kenseth sure wasn't rusty.

Was no victory circle celebration. Harvick did do a burnout after he won, and they did a short starting line interview. I think they did a 2nd place and a 3rd place interview, but I wasn't paying much attention at that point.

I watched the 1st video race thing, it was pretty lame. Had I not been at my mom's house and she was watching it, I would have turned the TV off. Gene

I'd be more than a little willing to bet that sponsor pressure was one of the driving forces behind Nascar going live again...

When they were running the pace laps before the green flag, they were announcing the primary sponsors along with the driver name on the first 20 cars, after that, nothing, not even the divers name. After the race, Harvick read the sponsor names off the side of his car.
