Damn that guy was brilliant!

My wife and I saw him live in Vegas at Bally's in the early 90's, lets just say she had never seen him and was shocked, but liked it! I have been a fan for decades, but some of his stuff is hard to take...

Had the 'Class Clown' tape way back when. We wore out 'Class Clown' and Cheech and Chong's 'Wedding Album'. Seven sins in one feel.........................

I had Class Clown on LP. Made us laugh no matter how many times we listened to it.

I had the pleasure working with him a number times over the years, and had great respect for his intellect and professionalism, and still do.

However two? nights ago I saw him on a rerun of his standup on Johnny Carson from decades back, and likely maybe one of his first Carson appearances, not sure.

I was shocked at how lame his performance was, it was almost depressing, although you could see glimmers of his future excellence and wit.

If you are a Carlin fan, I suggest, don't watch it if given the chance.

I was never a big fan of his, but one he did that was funnier than hell was a routine about "did you ever try to throw away a garbage can?" How true. Wish I could find a clip of that one.

The man was brilliant. I'm [censored] livid that my parents didn't let me watch him as a kid. They thought it was just vulgar comedy, but the man was a free thinker, and had razor sharp critical thinking skills. He was brilliant. I might have woken my dumb ass up decades earlier...

I've had to throw away a garbage can 3 times in the past year, and every time, his routine has been spot on.

I also work with a guy named Todd, and that routine is also on point.

I saw him live while in college on the last day of his tour, man was he pissed off ! He even ranted about the security !
Miss him.

Saw him at the University of Akron in May, 1989. Exceptional show. He was on fire.

The guy was a comedic genius. Loved his philosophy of not making up funny stuff, just points out items that people don't notice. His food routine was classic. "There is no blue food. Blueberries don't count-their purple." Made the obvious funny. Loved it!
