I'm thinking your local dealer probably has line on them. If you don't want bondo on your truck why would you settle for less than an OEM panel?

How hard is it to remove the outer door panel?

Was ready to buy the door panel and the shipping is the same as the panel. $225.00

If it has the folded over door skin like most doors Id replace the whole door with a clean used one then replace the skin myself. Not done right it looks like crap and can rust prematurely around the edges.

That's why we have insurance.

Sounds like you are going to be into that fix for more than that and you have to do all the labor. You still have to factor in primer, paint, thinner etc.At least for the deductible you will get a professional job with a guarantee.

If it's just a compression dent, and the paint isn't cracked.....take it to a paintless repair guy. My wife KILLED both of the doors on the passenger side of my 2500 Dodge quad cab. The paint wasn't hurt, but the dents were horrible. I took it to a dent doctor guy, and he fixed it to where it is impossible to tell it was ever mashed. I was tickled to death to pay him the $280 fee!

Check out Tasca Parts online site, looks like a complete door shell is around 500 bucks and a repair panel or skin is half of that, but you need to flange the skin onto your original inner structure, more labour and patience, easy for a seasons auto body person, not so easy for a first timer. Like some one else mentioned, maybe check out a salvage yard and get one in the same color, this way no paint costs, maybe do a swap with yours for a credit and get a complete ready to go door that hasn't been stripped yet of all its guts. Paint is cracked. It needs to be repainted.

Call them and ask. You might be surprised. Body panels are a very competitive business.
