Any suggestions on how to prep/restore original 2-piece rotors and 11 inch finned drums? Media blast before machining, or can a machine shop do a better job with the clean up?

Thanks

Media blast to get major corrosion off. Soak in Evapo rust. Make sure you have min thickness on rotor, unless a roll around show car.

make sure they are above minimum thickness,

Then ,, If you have a place nearby, I would have them chemically dipped.

Then put on a lathe to make sure they were true RIGHT BEFORE you plan to put them on the car

Wire brush the big crusties off and then soak them in Evaporust on a warm sunny day.

To minimize the amount of Evaporust it takes to do the job I like to put river rocks around inside the container to take up the dead space so it takes less fluid to get the part submerged

Here are some NOS drums for my Demon that had the normal shelf wear/rust on them that I soaked in Evaporust and then had them recoated by another shop to darken up the metal. On the front disc, the NOS 2 piece rotors that were on my 70 Cuda, they had a blue, anti rust coating on them.I don't know if the assembly lines ones had this blue coating, but I recoated them with this after cleaning them up.
