I am helping a friend sort through the parts on his AAR project. I hit a road block looking for the correct starter. Are there specific part numbers for each starter motor component? Tried googling & looked at the GTS books to no avail. Thanks!

Look at the slides on this page. You will see both alternator and starter pictures with info:

Dixie Restorations. Jim just restored an alternator for me...matching part number and date codes.

Part # you're looking for is 2875560. Found on the field coil can (iron end) underneath the word, Chrysler. Stamped into the metal near the top of the can.
