I'm putting some new 31/10.50R15LT Goodyear Wranglers Tires on my 1975 Dodge Power Wagon shortbox. Trying to decide whether to put the raised white letters out or the blackwalls out. It has smaller Goodyears on it now with the white letters out and it looks pretty good but I like the blackwall look too. What do you think???

New Tires, Raised White Letters out or Blackwalls out?

For a more period correct look, white letters out. Otherwise, whichever the owner prefers. As mentioned above, that truck would look great either way. twocents

IMO, RWL out ruins the look of ANY vehicle. If you want white showing, why go half-way?

I've done them both ways. In my opinion, I think the white letters out gives the truck a more classic look, but they look out of place on the newer stuff.
On old truck blackwalls say work truck, or too cheap to buy the rwl tires. Gene

I say 'out' because they're Goodyears. If they were funkashemos, I'd say 'in'......

Import branded tires white letters out don't look right to me on vintage steel.

My '75 PW (that I bought new) had the 31-10.50 package from the factory and the tires were blackwall. up Not sure when white letters were offered. work My next 2 new ones ('78 that was stolen & '79 Adventurer that I replaced it with) both had 235s? in blackwall and I never considered them to look like a work truck. wink grin Of course, on both trucks, as soon as I saved the money they both got 10" wheels & 33" white letter tires. thumbs

Raised white letters all day long with the big sidewalls, if your going with the more modern look of tall wagon wheels with rubber band tires then black wall only.
