Hello,

Could anyone help me find or give me information on the oil baffle that goes under a 6-pack intake. From what I was told it stops hot oil from heating up the center carb? If someone has one or has info on it so i can have one made I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Scott

It prevents oil splash from cooking under the hot exhaust riser passage.

It can build up carbon and contaminate the oil with little burned bits with no baffle in place.

Just about every stock intake has a baffle that is supposed to do that. What usually happens is they fill with oil, get cooked by the exhaust cross over and turns into solid carbon.

I remove them and use a milodon valley baffle.

Since it's not something you can see I prefer to use something that works.

But to answer your question, it's just a rectangular flat piece that covers the bottom, two self tapping rivets hold it in place, you can mock it up with poster board.

I've replace them with one that covers the entire bottom to keep hot oil off of the intake runners, I also block the heat cross over in the heads and intake to help make the motor run a little better with cooler air and fuel into the heads up
