I have a 73 Satellite SP. It has lap belts with the tab for a shoulder belt to add on.
It does not have the shoulder belts.

Are the mounting points for the shoulder belts put in all cars or just the ones they put shoulder bolts in?
There are no holes in my headliner...

Thanks

Not sure about Canada, but I have never seen a 73 without shoulder belts. The mounts ought to be there, a feel with your finger ought to tell you. I think US federal law mandated shoulder belts beginning 01 Jan 68.

Yes, I was surprised I could not see any marks on the headliner where the mount would go as it is white.
My 71 Demon has the shoulder strap but has lap belts without the tab so you can't connect them.

71s got two female bucles on each side, one for each belt ( lap and shoulder ) which got both male ends

72/73s are the ones with the tab on male end of lap belt to engage the shoulder one which is not made to be fastened to the female buckle. And of course just one female buckle.

74s are both belts stitched into one male end... and shoulder gets a retractor hidden down the bottom rear panel, not anymore manually adjusted. The caged nut changed its location for 74s shoulder belt strap. ( around "b pillar" area instead close to the coat hook )

all roofs got the provisions on frame even if was not equipped ( if that was posible confused ). There is not a diff PN on Sheetmetal for a non seatbelt setup.

71/73 got same provisions... Can't recall if 74s got them too even being diff seatbelt setup.

stripped roof on pics is 71 seatbelt ( you can tell it due the male end )

applies for all mopars

Thanks Nacho.

That makes sense as my 74 Challenger has the retractors.
I bought the shoulder belts for the Satellite but could not locate the mount point but have only glanced at it so far.

On the Demon I did not realize they were supposed to have 2 male points on the floor but I can add that pretty easily.

It makes you wonder just what each car went through before it ended up in your hands...

Thanks guys

another differences

71s are without sensors on seats or seatbelts. Seatbelt light is controled by the time delay flasher. No buzzer

72/73 gets sensors on lap retractors and on seat bottom springs. Light is controled by a relay on dash which lights on when you gear your car and belts are not fastened. Accomplished with a buzzer

74... the famous/infamous interlock system. Same seat sensors than earliers but seatbelt sensors were changed to female buckles. If still in working order, an unit control box won't allow you crank the engine if belts are not fastened. Acomplished with light and buzzer. Doesn't apply to Canadian models. which also gets a control unit but just to control all warining lights and buzzers, but will allow you to crank the engine no matter if seatbelst are unfastened
