Yes you can get in trouble. The air cleaner base on a 340-440 are the same 2" high. The base on a 383-400 are 2 1/2 high. If you use the 2 1/2 it will break the bubble!!! I would agree that he should check the air cleaner base height, but he talking about a 340 Six Barrel conversion. The factory never made a 383-400 Six Barrel air cleaner base plate so the different height of a low deck big block base plate isn't a problem in his case.

Sorry for any mixup. The single carb air cleaners are the ones that are different the six pack are the same! No problem at all. I was a little lost in this case as I have never been involved with a small block six barrel set-up going in an air grabber car. Thanks for all the help !!
