I would appreciate information on weather or not I would have any clearance issues if I replaced the stock 4 barrel intake with a stock 340 six barrel setup ? Is this doable with an Air Grabber hood? Would I experience any fitment issues with my air grabber air box sealing to the six barrel air cleaner ? Thanks for any information that anyone can offer.

Yes you can get in trouble. The air cleaner base on a 340-440 are the same 2" high. The base on a 383-400 are 2 1/2 high. If you use the 2 1/2 it will break the bubble!!!

I would agree that he should check the air cleaner base height, but he talking about a 340 Six Barrel conversion.

The factory never made a 383-400 Six Barrel air cleaner base plate so the different height of a low deck big block base plate isn't a problem in his case.

Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

Thanks for all the good comments. Just to clarify in my own mind, If I use a 440 six barrel air cleaner on my 340 six barrel set-up, it will work on a 71 RR Air Grabber hood ?? shruggy

Thanks for all the help.

No problem at all. I was a little lost in this case as I have never been involved with a small block six barrel set-up going in an air grabber car. Thanks for all the help !!
