Can anyone tell me where to find the actual build date of a vehicle, where is it located on a factory broadcast sheet...is it part of the VON sequence# ?
Thanks in advance.

the actual build date was not recorded by Chrysler - they tracked the "SCHEDULED" date & the "SHIPPED" date

I have been reverse engineering/creating "actual production date" calendars for a number of the popular '68-'71 assembly plants - what year & plant is the car in question?

It's my '72 Duster...built in Hamtramck, I have the broadcast sheet, and even the original sales invoice, title, and window sticker... all in great shape, but unforunately fender tag is MIA. It was bought on Nov.30th of 1971 according to the sales invioce. Just curious as to the actual build date of the car?

I haven't looked at '72 Hamtramck, but by spring of '72 they were putting the build date on the door sticker - but your Duster is a little early for that

...car was re-painted in the '90's a different color than factory "Goldleaf" Y8. So it was built before door decals were installed on the vehicles?

no, it still had a door decal - there was a change during the model year - here are the early and late versions scope

edit: it changed for '73 to include the Month & Year to having the Month / Day / Hour of completion

It was actually late 1972 model year. See the page at https://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/TSBs/1972/25-09-72C%20page_1.jpg

Fortunately, the '73 Charger I sold 2 years ago, had the original door decal still attached and fully intact. Although I don't recall the MDH numbers at the moment, they were present on the decal. I wish the Duster still had the decal attached and on the door. mad
