Looking at using the McLeod RST twin disc clutch and flywheel on my 70 GTX. Anyone use this and how do you like it? Thanks! I used a Mcleod Street-twin in Savoy for a while and I liked it on the street but power shifting at the track doesn't work really well. Too much rotating mass to get a clean release from the discs for a good full throttle power shift. Mine was a diaphragm plate 10.5" unit and it was an easy install just make sure you keep every thing in it's matched location. Gus

I ran Mccleods for yesr. Then went to a center Force dual friction.Light pedal grips great and shifts easy.My 440 has about 650 HP.Been in for a long time and still is great.Just break it in for a while on install.Rocky

I put the old Street Twin in my Road Runner behind a nicely built 440 6 bbl. I put about 4000 miles on it. When I swapped in the Hemi, the assembly looked like new so just bolted it onto the back of the Hemi. The Hemi should have about 600 hp, so I'll see how it holds up. I agree about the comment on the fast shifts. There does seem to be a limit on how fast you can switch gears. I'm sure I can fine tune the shift levers to improve it. But that clutch package is a lot of rotating mass.

I’m planning to build a stroker motor for it in a year or so, and I want something that will hold up to the hp and torque that thing is going to put out. Looking at somewhere around 600 of each. I'm around 600 with my Indy head 493 and I'm running a Centerforce II plate with a Mcleod 600 series disc on a Hays billet wheel. It works very nice and smooth with great holding power but I hesitate to race it with slicks because it bites so good. It does power shift nice Gus
