Which rim blow center cap is correct for a 1971 Challenger? There are a few reproductions available, but seem to cross over from '70-'71 interchangeably. There are two that say "Dodge", one with black lettering and one with embossed metal lettering. There is another with a plain black pad with 3 hex head bolts. Which would be the most correct for a '71 Challenger?
Thanks!
From what I've seen over the years the embossed metal one is 1970 only, and the black lettered on 71 Challengers Mike

Yes!, I saw that just a few minutes ago, it's actually the only time I've ever seen that cap (and that ad!) used on a 71 Challenger, I wonder if it's an early pilot/show/promotional/road test car?...I also wonder if anyone else has seen or had a 71 Challenger blow rim so equipped?...interesting? Not saying they couldn't have come in a Challenger but IMHO, I dont think they did. Those promo films always have a lot of goofy things, mistakes and items from other vehicles. It is showcasing the 71 Challenger, but when showing shifter options about 4:20 shows a 71 B-body non console mid length shifter. The car clearly has a 1970 dash pad as seen by stitching and 1970 Challenger script on right side. It clearly has 1970 mirrors. The cassette face is not like any production cassette player, larger tape opening, almost 8 track size. Which leads me to believe they stuck a Barracuda horn pad on the rimblow wheel Parts books rimblow cap shows this one only listed B for Barracuda, no BJ for both. J for Challenger cap has the different part number A factory original aluminum Dodge ring for cap has the DODGE letters embossed. In my opinion it was the same used for both years. Letters may have been black on a brand new model car but many originals I have seen including my original is clear, ....but perhaps from wear. Anything that is not embossed would be a reproduction. Dale Tuel was the first to make a reproduction of it many years ago and although his letters were embossed they were slightly larger than original. I have not held a current reproduction DODGE cap ring in my hand to compare to original.

Well another video shows this shifter in A 70 Challenger R/T. Are we all gonna change to this style now? Add the redline tires to your 1970 to complete the look. Actually I did purchase a shifter just like that for one of my 70 Cudas with a slapstik set up, just to be different ....but I do draw the line on NO Redlines on an E body, they just don't look "performance oriented"...
