They run MV on Starz network and I saw that episode a few weeks back. So many great cars on MV. I've seen a few episodes with 71 GTO convertibles. A buddy owns one.

Oh you just ruined my 30 year belief that it was a real Testarossa! My boss back in the day (90s) bought a real one, red...never got a ride in it though So the story goes that Ferrari had issued a cease and desist order to the company that made the Daytona clones. Since the black car was one of these clones, the production of Miami vice was asked not to use the car in their show anymore. In return, Ferrari provided two real Testarossa However, they needed a stunt car, so there was a clone made from a Pantera and the panels from one of the real cars. If I recall, and its been a while since I read the story, both of the real Ferrari cars still exist with one having been up for auction not too long ago. BTW, I also recall that the real cars were black, and show up briefly in one episode before being painted white.

Oh thanks RoadRunner, I can rest easy now knowing that a lot of the shots were with a real Ferrari. I heard about the first car, the Daytona clone. Those were built out of corvettes? I believe so, yes.

I actually won a radio call in contest once by knowing it was built on a '74 Vette chassis. Didn't Nugent blow it up on the show with a missile?

I actually won a radio call in contest once by knowing it was built on a '74 Vette chassis. Didn't Nugent blow it up on the show with a missile? Wasn't Nugent. He was in another episode. Was a Stinger. Crockett, under cover, was complaining the date on the crates were 6 years old and asked how does he know they're good. So arms dealer pulled one out and blew up the car. Nugent was in another episode where his girlfriend lured unsuspecting dealers to their death. OK, I know way too much about some of these episodes. I've been watching them on cable or internet when I get a little while. Brings back memories. I started looking up the shows to see the boats and cars a few years ago. I couldn't recall if one of the boats was a Chaparral Villain or not. There was for sale by me and I had looked at it a while back. But the boat on the show was originally a Chris Craft Stinger, then a Wellcraft Scarab The show isn't that bad considering the amount of time that's past.
