I am looking for a reasonably priced 3 point conversion seat belts for my 70 Challenger with bucket seats. My Challenger does have the anchor plates in the sail panel for belts. I thought I read somewhere that some cars didn't. I am looking at SeatbeltsPlus.com and they list them for 71-74 Challenger. Can anyone tell me why they won't work on a 70? Does anyone have any other sources for good belts at a reasonable cost? Thanks for your help!

FWIW - A buddy of mine got some 3-points for his '70 Dart; they're the ones most commonly seen, with a big floor-mounted reel. The bracket on the reel is in the wrong place, so an extension is included, but: The extension becomes a hinge, rendering the location less secure and less effective. The belt is rearward, making it clumsy to reach & complicating rear seat access. Reel is too large to fit between seat & door or seat & inner rocker.
It can be made to work by drilling into the rocker, but you'll need access to the backside (inner rocker or floor) to secure it. Another method would be an adapter plate, using factory floor hole + another hole drilled in.
If you can use a later 1st-gen Challenger 3-point, that's likely best, but I quit researching it when he decided to just use seat belts. I keep thinking that there has to be an OEM solution from another vehicle...

All 70 challengers except convertibles have the upper mount.

I have a 70 B body, so I can’t speak for the E body, but I doubt the results would be different. I purchased the retrofit 3 point belts sold by Classic Auto industries and am very pleased. These use the two factory bolt locations. I don’t think the arm at the base compromises the belt in any way. Only two minor drawbacks I can see. The first being the belt retractor. It need a little help to reel in the belt when you disconnect. The spring could be loaded a bit tighter. The second is the height at which the shoulder section crosses my body. I’m 6’1” and it nearly misses rubbing my neck. I haven’t had a shorter person ride with me to see where it hits them. All in all, I’m a happy customer.
I’m listening.

Nice belts if you don’t mind a mix of GM in your interior

thanks for that wesco link. those look promising for my charger. i'll just have to get in touch with them to get a color chart so i can chose the right color to go with my interior. These are what I used also.
