But MM better watch out for a mildly tweaked 5.7 .... It might very well put the hurt on that V code 70 RR and?

I'm 60 and my newest car is older than our '68 GTS was when we bought it in 1983, but just barely. I can't afford anything newer that is interesting so it doesn't really matter what I think on the matter, but if I had a pile of cash to put into anything car related it would go directly into the old stuff with my wife's complete blessing. I thought you had a newer "BM Trouble You" convertible?
'67 is an abbreviation of 1967 67' is an abbreviation of 67 feet They are not interchangeable.

BTW - to the OP. I would suggest a different Subject. I thought you were terminally ill when I read the Subject line.

i drive it all of the time cross country. i daily drive it in the summer, i usually drive it 6-8000 miles a year. it's actually the nicest car i own. with the exception of the aftermarket intake manifold that allows me to bolt on a stock GT500 TVS supercharger to a 4.6, upgraded clutch and headers. the rest of the parts on the car are stock OEM mustang parts. granted the motor internals, and the rear end have been modified to stronger internals. my choices are a 2000 Honda accord with 150K my daily driver winter beater, 2000 dodge ram 4X4 with a 360 auto my occasional weekend parts hauler, and my mustang. actually after installing a GT500 6 speed man trans the mustang gets almost as good as gas mpg on the freeway as the Honda. i something something comparable can be done to a new challenger or charger pretty easily. i bought a mustang because i got it really cheap after it was in to many fender benders by it's teenage driver. dad said no more after he got a new insurance quote with a teen driver and a mustang.. Gee, glad you've got one Dodge, thanks for sharing!

Never did understand why so many people keep saying the old stuff falls apart all the time. Perhaps it's that guys are building their cars with lower quality parts, and in some cases that is all that is available now???
Pretty much hit it on the head, it seems most of the guys that want "old" daily drivers or nice drive-able/reliable "show cars", don't have the skill sets to build/maintain them, plus add in junk/used parts, no serious upgrades in the ignition and braking/suspension/drive line dept often ends in disappointment for a reliable older vehicle.... easier to head off to the dealer for a new ride and repairs when needed, then dispose/trade it in when it becomes problematic I'll stick with the old iron thank you, all it takes is a good going thru and some smart upgrades on a new "older" toy to make it reliable, I've actually spent more time waiting for tow rigs driving some of the newer stuff because of computer/electronic failures than with older iron which you could manage to roadside repair and limp home Mike

I know I only have a coupla years left and I won't be able to keep up with my old brick. I should be able to achieve my goal of an 8.50 ET with my 3500 lb street driven toy this year . Can't do the track by myself anymore as well as the heavy work sometimes required.I would trade my heap for a Redeye!
